Is prepared from the addition of ethylene oxide to monoethylene glycol (MEG) over an alkaline catalyst. Is used in the manufacture of cleaning products and detergents; as a solubilizer, viscosity regulator, antistatic agent, softener, gellatant, granulating tableting auxiliary substances.
